Oktober 2026 | Von Jorge RodríguezThe Roman historian, senator, and politician Cassius Dio loved a front-row seat. To tell how Commodus, that son of Marcus Aurelius who liked to rule Rome dressed as Hercules, went down into the amphitheatre arena one afternoon and beheaded an incredulous ostrich. With the creature’s head in his left hand and the wet…WEITERLESEN | es
  2. Nächste AusstellungCirenaica Moreira: Agárrame que me vueloCATCH ME BEFORE I FLY AWAY11. Nov. 2026Beginning November 11, 2026, The Annex Gallery presents a new exhibition by Cirenaica Moreira, whose recent practice unfolds through photography, performance, objects, and writing as interconnected forms of autobiographical inquiry. Memory, displacement, intimacy, loss, and the instability of identity become recurring points of departure in a body of work where lived experience is continually reworked through fiction, association, and symbolic transformation. Moreira approaches the personal not as a closed territory, but as a space in which broader cultural, emotional, and social conditions become visible. Moving between confession and construction, presence and absence, her work resists fixed narratives and instead embraces fragmentation, ambiguity, and the shifting nature of remembrance.WEITERLESEN

Okt. 2026Beginning September 16, 2026, I.T.I.N.E.R.A.T.I.O.N.S presents a photographic series by Juan-Sí González developed through his journeys along the roads of the American Midwest. Images initially made as practical records of an unfamiliar territory gradually became observations of spaces shaped, transformed, and ultimately abandoned by human presence. Signs, buildings, objects, and other remnants of material culture reveal ways of thinking, living, and inhabiting that have accumulated over time. Moving along the subtle boundary between documentary and fiction, González transforms these deserted environments into reinterpreted topographies that expose aspects of the social imaginary and invite reflection on the physical, ideological, and psychological landscapes we collectively occupy.WEITERLESEN
