Criticism, curating & design for art and culture.

Jorge Rodríguez Diez writes art criticism every week and curates exhibitions in Cincinnati. For more than three decades he has given form to other people’s ideas: catalogs for Cuba’s leading artists, magazines, identities for embassies and institutions and, more recently, websites for art institutions.

Memory, displacement, intimacy, loss, and the instability of identity become recurring points of departure in a body of work where lived experience is continually reworked through fiction, association, and symbolic transformation. Moving between confession and construction, presence and absence, her work resists fixed narratives and instead embraces fragmentation, ambiguity, and the shifting nature of remembrance.READ MORE

Images initially made as practical records of an unfamiliar territory gradually became observations of spaces shaped, transformed, and ultimately abandoned by human presence. Signs, buildings, objects, and other remnants of material culture reveal ways of thinking, living, and inhabiting that have accumulated over time.
